Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage our company’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure
- Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity, latency, and bandwidth problems
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Collaborate with system administrators and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network and server infrastructure
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures
- Evaluate new networking technologies and make recommendations for network enhancements or upgrades
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Proficiency in network routing and switching protocols, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, and STP
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Aruba
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Certifications:
- Optional: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications
